Spiraling Up: Cape Hatteras National Seashore, April 2004 Looking up the stairs of the Bodie Island Lighthouse. Unfortunately this was as far as we could go, as the lighthouse is closed except for the ground floor. As a photography sidenote, this was when I learned about the coolness that is ISO. I was taking another shot looking up the stairwell and used my flash. I was disappointed with the results, which must have been apparent on my face because a gentleman waiting to take his own similar shot suggested that I’d get better results using no flash and a higher ISO. He took his shot and we compared results. I then happily took this shot using his suggestion. (via Robby Edwards’ Photos)

Scenery at Midway Geyser Basin: Yellowstone National Park, July 2006 The sky is reflected in what I believe is Indigo Spring. (via Robby Edwards’ Photos)
It’s a Baby Burrito: Rachelle and I have a joke that when we swaddle Emily, she looks like a burrito. So we affectionately call her our Baby Burrito. (via Robby Edwards’ Photos)

Dead Tree, Reprise: Glacier National Park, August 2006 Another shot of this dead tree along the shore of Lake Sherburne, with which I was fascinated. (via Robby Edwards’ Photos)
All Along the Watchtower: Glacier National Park, August 2006 In addition to the mountain goats we saw at Logan Pass, we watched several of these critters ( I think they are Antelope Ground Squirrels, but I am not sure). They would stand on their hind legs and squeal as we watch. As if to warn the others, “Watch out! Here’s another human with his camera.” (via Robby Edwards’ Photos)
