Cinder Cone: Bryce Canyon National Park, September 2001 During the summer of 2001, Rachelle and I took a vacation to visit National Parks and Monuments in Utah and Arizona. We flew into Las Vegas and then drove to Cedar City, Utah. The next morning we drove to Bryce Canyon National Park. During our drive, we passed a cinder cone and lava flow. We considered walking out to it, but eventually decided against it. The cinder cone is the mound on the left side of the picture and the lava flow extends from the cone to the right side of the photo (see the notes on the photo). (via Robby Edwards’ Photos)
