Obelisk: Minute Man National Historical Park, August 2007 The original obelisk which served as a memorial to the battle. It was controversial in its day due to its placement on the “British” side of the river, prompting the building of a replica of the North Bridge and the Minute Man statue. Jordan Pond Under a Stormy Sky: Acadia National Park, August 2007 Taken on our first day and visit to Jordan Pond. We had originally planned to hike on some of the Carriage Roads around the Jordan Pond area, but because it looked like the weather was getting worse, we decided to wait for better weather before we took Emily out for a stroll. At first it looked like the rain might hold off, and so we were regretting our decision to stay in the car. But once the skies opened up and the rain began to pour down, we knew we had made the right choice. Plus the next day, we did do some hiking around Jordan Pond, and the weather was excellent, so in the end it worked out for the best. (via Photos from Robby Edwards)
